Apple has released the iPhone and iPod Touch 3.0 Firmware OS. This is the second major firmware update for the iPhone and iPod Touch Family. iPhone 2G and 3G will enjoy the free firmware upgrade as before. But iPod Touch Owners will have to pay US$9.99 for the 3.0 Firmware OS.

- Download and Install iTunes 8.2
- Download iPod Touch 2G Firmware 3.0 IPSW iPod2,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw
& iPod Touch 1G Firmware 3.0 IPSW iPod1,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw

Download links for iPhone 2G/3G & iPod Touch 2G 3.0 Software update - Connect your iPod Touch to computer
- Start iTunes 8.2 & Select iPod Touch from devices list
- Hold Shift and click Restore Button.
- A window will open to allow you to locate Ipod Touch .ipsw file you have download in Step 2
- Do not disconnect till iTunes has completed updating iPod Touch
