iPhone comes with Bluetooth but has limitations unlike normal phone with the full Bluetooth functions. iPhone 3.0 will have Bluetooth sharing capabilities. But it is not for you to transfer music files from your phone to your friend's or vice versa. The Bluetooth on iPhone is purely for sharing to play games, transfer photos using some app, or using the bluetooth headset to listen to music.
It does no support Bluetooth File Exchange Utility also. If you attempt to browse for your iPhone Device, it will always prompt the message, "Device does not have the necessary services." Therefore it does not support file transfer between Bluetooth devices. It is one of the way Apple is controlling the contents that you can transfer between Bluetooth Devices. In this way, you can not transfer music, photos or any files using Bluetooth unlike Samsung Omnia2 or other Bluetooth phones which does not have this limitations.
If your iPhone is not Firmware 3.0 but lower version, then your Bluetooth works for Bluetooth Headsets only. Upgrade your iPhone to Software 3.0 since it is a free upgrade for all iPhone users via iTunes.
You can however only transfer music by BlueTooth if you jailbreak your iPhone. After jailbreaking the phone, you should have a program call Cydia and you will be able to find a program call iBluetooth in the Cydia Apps Store.
