It is simple to Restore your iPod Touch or iPhone if you are having trouble with your device. Even if you jailbreak it, you can also Restore to the previous version before u jailbreak it. Many times users think their device is damage if they see the Apple Logo but not able to enter to the main menu. All is not lost but just need to go into recovery mode and restore everything back.
Restoring iPhone of iPod Touch Guide
- Turn Off Device completely by holding the Home and Power Button together
- Open your iTunes
- Ensure USB Cable is connected to your computer already
- Press the "Home" and "Sleep/Wake" buttons together for 5 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
- Hold the Home Button and plug the USB connector to your Device now
- Release the "Sleep/Wake" button but keep the “Home” button held until the iTunes logo and a picture of the USB lead is shown.
- Device is in Recovery Mode
- Follow the instructions in iTunes
It will prompt a dialogue box that iPod Touch or iPhone is in Recover Mode. Press OK and hit the Restore button. Your iPhone and iPod Touch will now be Restored. If you to understand more in details, check out the following video.

Only problem is the iPod Touch has a few apps on it that the inputted data is only on he Touch back up. Once I get them both backed up with full data sets I'd keep them separate. It's just the initial squirt of data into the phone I want to get.
